The Man Behind Go Hard Grills & Catering
Go Hard Grills & Catering was founded by Alphonso Lutrell Thomas Jr., better known throughout Texas and the South as Go Hard Black. While many know him for his impact on Dallas culture, music, and entrepreneurship, those closest to him know that his greatest passion has always been bringing people together.
Born in Ocala, Florida, and raised in the historic Frazier Court neighborhood of East Dallas, Alphonso learned early the value of hard work, resilience, loyalty, and community. Life presented challenges, but every obstacle became an opportunity to grow stronger. Those experiences helped shape the determination, discipline, and leadership that would later become the foundation of the Go Hard brand.
After proudly serving in the United States Navy, Alphonso returned to Texas with a renewed sense of purpose. Throughout the years, he built a reputation for staying true to his word, supporting others, and creating opportunities wherever he could. Whether through music, business, mentorship, or community involvement, his mission has always been the same: uplift people and leave a positive impact.
That same mindset inspired the creation of Go Hard Grills & Catering.
What started as a love for cooking and entertaining family and friends evolved into a business dedicated to serving great food and creating memorable experiences.
